This is The Label Project.
It's meant to combine simplistic, macro photos with labels of words or phrases, creating a message about contemporary Western society. I typed the phrases, printed them, cut them out, put tape on the backs, and placed them where ever I was inspired to do so! There are 22 photographs in this series: all somewhat similar, but all a bit different. I hope you enjoy! -- Photo 8 of 22. Am I really only on 8? Doesn't feel like there's that many more to go... Hmm. This photo is trying to send out a message of the enthnocentrism that dominates here in North America and in Europe as well. We say, "I am superior because I have white skin." "I'm superior because I own a computer." "I'm better than you are because all my clothes are brand labels." "I am superior to you becuase I have food to eat every night and a roof over my head." "You can't be better than I am because you don't speak English." Enjoy.  |
